Day 7&8: Indigo and Violet, Part 2

I am the only female in the Ayanokouji family. My mother died when I was young. As such, my brothers all think that I ought to be protected from any harm at all cost.

"Oh, come on! Why can't I go to the same school as you guys too? That's not fair!" It was the first day of high school, and Akito was already sulking because he wasn't able to go to the same school as his older siblings.

"It's obvious, duh! You're still a grade school kid. Why would you be in a high school?" As usual, Fuyuki stated the obvious and proceeded to tease his younger brother. The younger boy had to bear with the mess on his head until the eldest son, Natsumi, came out from the house and scolded Fuyuki. Yukiko chuckled a little bit; then, she took her little brother's hand in hers and smiled at him.

"How about this, Aki-chan. We'll walk you to school every day, and you can hold my hand if you want to. Is that okay with you?" Fuyuki's brow twitched.

"Whaaaaat? Yuki-chan, that kid is already a 6th grader. He's not a baby anymore, stop spoiling him!" Honest to goodness sake, his little sister spoiled the brat a little bit too much! So Fuyuki decided to pinch Akito's cheek in irritation, but then Natsumi got annoyed with his antics and decided to just pull his brother by the neck to school. Akito pulled out his tongue at Fuyuki, and shouted a "Serves you right, you idiot!" at his brother.

The three elder siblings left their youngest sibling at his school, and continued walking toward their school. Everything seems fine and well until they're nearing their destination. As the numbers of students were increasing, so were the numbers of eyes staring at the trio once they were at the school gate. If it was just as usual, the brothers would just ignore the stares and whispers from the other students. However, Yukiko will be coming to school with them from now on, and it was obvious to them that their sister was bothered by the stares as she moved closer toward them and pulled on their sleeves.

"What's wrong, Yuki-chan?" Natsumi stopped, turned to face her and stared at his little sister. He saw the discomfort on Yukiko's face as she glanced at the other students. Natsumi took a quick glance at their surroundings. The girls immediately looked somewhere else to blush when his eyes met with them, but the boys kept staring at Yukiko with love-struck eyes. He patted her head and smiled at her, trying to ease her worry but in his heart, he cursed; those damn pests.

"Are you feeling nervous? Don't worry, I'm here with you!" Then Fuyuki butted in, hugging his twin. He realised that the girls were throwing daggers at his sister, but he was more concerned about the numbers of male students that were glaring at him. It's still the first day and his dearest sister is already accumulating a number of admirers. He sighed silently.

When he pulled himself from their hug, Yukiko took several deep breaths, trying to calm herself.

"I was nervous before, but I'm fine now...... I think. Thank you, Fuyu-chan, Natsu-niichan." Yukiko smiled. The brothers cursed and slapped their head. It was as if the time had stopped. The cherry blossoms fluttered in the wind, and everyone in the siblings' vicinity were mesmerised by Yukiko's smile. But a quick glare from the brothers immediately froze them on the spot. It's no wonder Yukiko looked confused when she saw lots of frozen statues when the siblings started walking again.

***

It's been almost a month since Yukiko started high school and Fuyuki feared that his sister was being bullied. First, she got tons of letters underneath her table (though some, he realised, were probably letters from her admirers). Then, there were lots of flowers and scribbles - Fuyuki winced at the uncivilised words they used to harass her, but his angel of a sister just freaking smiled at it! - decorating the table. Afterwards, things escalated more - stolen and missing things e.g.: shoes, books, uniform, and stationeries - that he decided that enough is enough. Even a bloody moron should think thrice about trying to hurt his twin!

"Don't you think you should stop?" Fuyuki said as a group of girls got out from the classroom, surprising them. It was after school. No one was in the classroom, and there was nobody in sight around the hallway. What a perfect timing.

"A-Ayanokouji-san! Fancy meeting you here after school is over. What are you doing here? Did you forget something inside?" One brave girl stood in front of the rest, trying to strike a conversation. Fuyuki stared at the girls, and began looking at them from head to toe. They seemed to be the girls from his fan-club. Aww, shucks. He always thought that girls with nasty personality are quite nice - especially if they are good looking - but having these kinds of hobby is just downright pathetic.

"...Are you guys one of the bunch who had been harassing Yuki-chan lately?" He didn't immediately answer them, but questioned them instead. The girls twitched in response. My, they even looked angry when he uttered the name "Yuki-chan".

".....And what if we are?" The girl almost stuttered. Oh, my. Getting found out by your crush to be the perpetrator behind the bullying act was one thing, and admitting to their fault was another thing. Fuyuki doesn't know if he should be admiring them or be disappointed with the girls. But well, nothing mattered to him when things involved his dearest twin anyway. At least he should try to be polite.

"Then can I suggest that you girls to stop it? I'm not fond of using crude languages and I would really love to avoid using my fist if possible." Fuyuki smiled, but his eyes aren't. Unfortunately none of them saw how terrifying it was.

"But Aya-kun! It's a rule that you belong to everyone! Yet she kept on hogging you for herself, following you everywhere saying 'Fuyu-chan this, Fuyu-chan that'. Don't you think it's annoying?!" A blond girl stepped out, trying to defend themselves.

Ooooh my.

"That's right! And why is she acting overly familiar with you? She even dared to call you by your given name so casually! It's even more infuriating when she hugs or holds your hand and pretend she's shy just to get closer to you. Even we, your fans, were barely able to touch or hold a conversation with you without getting approval from the fan-club members!" A girl with a cute ponytail said, agreeing with the blonde.

Oooooooooh my, my.

"She's right!" Another girl stepped out, her hair fashioned in a stylish bob suiting her round face. "I mean, we've known you since middle school. What does a girl who just transferred here during high school know about you? That bumbling idiot and her stupid smile should just drop out from this school. She's a nuisance and an annoyance to-!!!" Fuyuki's fist barely met the girl's face. He stopped exactly a millimetre away from her nose. The shock from the sudden attack was too severe that nobody could utter a single shriek.

Fuyuki was silent for a while, his eyes cold as he glared at the girl.

"...I will only say this once so listen up properly you fucking bitches." He opened his lips, his tone was strangely calm and monotone. "First of all; who the hell cares what kind of shitty rule you guys fucking made? I belong to no one and I decide which one is annoying when I hang out with people."

"Second; you damned bitches know nothing about me or Yuki-chan, so just shut the hell up or I'll fucking sew you guys' mouth shut!"

"Third; my Yuki-chan is an absolute saint, full stop. Being in her good presence gives you eternal happiness and being in her good graces is a blessing for your soul. But you shitheads dared calling her... Will any of you fucktards repeat to me what you just called her? Bubbling- no, bumbling what?" He stared at the girls, the background was somehow rumbling scarily.

"Bu-bumbling idiot....." the bob-haired girl mumbled, tears rapidly filling her eyes.

"Aah, yes, that. You fucking shithead dared called her that, and it is simply unforgivable. And to think that my angelic saint princess Yuki-chan even spared a thought to grace you bitches with her pure smile... You fuckers really know no shame, and honestly I would fucking kill to be able to beat you guys to a bloody pulp only it would still not be enough to satisfy my anger so..."

"This is the only warning I'll give; leave Yuki-chan the hell out from your damned dramas and never mess with her again or I'll make every inch of your shitty lives a fucking miserable hell. Got it?

The girls gulped, and then nodded furiously, eyes brimming with tears. When Fuyuki was sure the girls understood everything he said, he finally smiled at them, dissolving the threatening atmosphere that was oozing from him before.

"Good girl." He smiled. Then his expression turned cold and his voice was monotone again. "Now go to whoever your leader really is and tell everyone exactly what I told you guys, not a word amiss and not a single word altered. Bear in mind that I mean each and every word I uttered." He stared at each of the girl, remembering their faces so he'd know if ever any problems arise again. Once he's satisfied, he nodded and smiled at them as warmly as he can muster.

"Now run along and spread the word, girls. Before I ran out of any politeness I have left in me."

And the poor girls immediately scrambled home, tears in their eyes, clinging to dear life they have left from being threatened by the Fuyuki Ayanokouji. After all the girls have left, Fuyuki sighed darkly. Then, he turned around as he looked at the supposed-to-be-empty hallways.

"So, until when are you going to eavesdrop on me, Kaname?" Fuyuki asked his best friend. Kaname Kiryuu was leaning on the wall as he struggled to hold his laughter.

"My, my, the big brother is sooooo scary~" He held onto his stomach, trying not to laugh but failed miserably. Fuyuki flushed.

Who cares as long as Yuki-chan is safe? He thought.

So the next day, nothing happened anymore to Yukiko and his sister looked strangely disappointed.

"Yuki-chan, your tolerance level is so amazing you're making me speechless. I wonder if you even realised that you were being bullied." Fuyuki replied when his sister talked to him about it, but Yukiko looked confused. She even tilted her head as she stared at her twin, as if the word 'bullied' never even get registered in her mind.

".....I was bullied? By whom?"

The light of innocence and saintly virtue made Fuyuki's eyes hurt. And he forgot that they were in the classroom, full of their classmates.

Drat, he thought. Natsu-nii is going to murder someone today, Fuyuki gulped. That day, the brothers went home sulking all the way back home, as the numbers of Yukiko's stalkers increased again.

***

Sometimes, Fuyuki will have soccer practice (apparently he's the ace of the club) and Natsumi have student council meetings (he's the president), leaving Yukiko alone after school ended. So whenever there aren't any special sales going on, she'd wait for her brothers at the soccer field, watching the soccer club's practices. It's easier for the brothers to look out for any potential pests trying to suck up on their dearest sister especially when Fuyuki was around the vicinity, and lately a certain cockroach bearing the name Kaname Kiryuu had been really annoying somehow. If you've noticed - yes, it is the same person whom Fuyuki had called his best friend. They were still best buds, but that never stop Fuyuki from strangling Kaname every time he made any advances on Yukiko.

That particular day was no exception. Before Fuyuki realised it, Kaname had sneaked off from practice and ran out from the soccer field toward where Yukiko had been sitting since she arrived there. Obviously, the elder twin was furious, especially when Kaname was sitting too near to his sister! Immediately, Fuyuki stomped out from the field, ignoring the screeches and screams of girls around him as he made his way toward his targets.

They were talking - and Fuyuki knew that Yukiko was trying to be civil with Kaname because he's Fuyuki's friend - but the bastard Kaname is scooting closer to his sister that it crossed the line of comfort by a huge margin. Whatever the hell was that man was trying to do with Yukiko now? Fuyuki harrumphed as veins popped on his head.

There was only three strides left before he reached the two sitting on the bench; Yukiko was just about to call her twin, and she was smiling. Crap. Fuyuki was just a hair breadth away from Kaname and Yukiko - but Kaname was faster, and he swiftly stole a kiss from Yukiko. When the two parted lips, the young girl was stoned. Fuyuki immediately yanked Kaname's collar, the urge to kill Kaname quickly corroding his mind.

"You damned bastard. How. Dare. You. Kissed. My. Sister?!!"

Kaname blinked at Fuyuki. He wasn't fond of being strangled on his neck, but the reactions from the twins amused him so much it was worth the pain.

"What, are you jealous? Then, here." He pulled on Fuyuki's shirt and easily kissed him. It was right at that moment that Yukiko snapped out from her frozen state and saw the scene happening in front of her. Then, Fuyuki had turned into cold statue, too shocked from the situation to even do anything, and Kaname was holding his stomach, giggling in joy.

Oh, god. There was a snapping sound.

"You're unforgivable! How dare you attack my brother?!"

The earth shook, and the cloud rumbled. Everything looked so dark and cloudy around the three of them. There were tears in Yukiko's eyes as she gritted her teeth, glaring intensely at Kaname.

"Now pray to god you're going to be alive to see the next sunrise," She had said; her tone suddenly different. Everyone was surprised, and the force of her voice was so strong that Fuyuki immediately returned to earth. Then he panicked. Oh, my god. He prayed hard that Yukiko won't be called as a murderer as she landed a squarely punch right at Kaname's gut.

I am the only female in the Ayanokouji family. My mother died when I was young. As such, my brothers all think that I ought to be protected from any harm at all cost. But sometimes - well, most of the time I guess - I wish they would let me protect them instead. Because I can protect myself just fine on my own.
