Manga Review : NG LIFE

Hullo~ I haven written anything about manga lately. Heheh. Well luckily today I'm tooooooooooooo bored so I present to you one of my most favourite (completed) series so far, from the author who wrote Akatsuki Yona - who else than KUSANAGI MIZUHO-sensei -> NG Life!!

From left to right : Serizawa Mii, Saeki Keidai & Ujoh Yuuma
From Tokyopop:
Keidai Saeki is a high school student who remembers his past life in Pompeii, living as the Italian warrior Sirix... His friends around him are all also reincarnated - although they don't quite remember things the way he does. Keidai's wife from the past? He's now a middle school boy - while his best male friend is now a cute girl?! Throw in a case of love at first sight, and you have a new look at romance - manga-style!

Loleus, Sirix & Serena
I'm lazy to introduce all the characters properly. How about an introduction page? This is from volume 7, and the last updated character introduction given.

This are only some of the important characters.
So let's not forget Keidai's parents, too!

Ugh... I don't know what to say anymore. Let's just enjoy the pictures okay?

P/S : The character that I love the most in this story is Keidai's father. He's the most easygoing father and a big troll to boot! >A<

Here's the rest of the picture! Enjoy!! Oh, and if you want to read a real review then read this : NG LIFE, Review

Shuna, formerly Lady Aglaia.

Yuuma's cousin Shinogu and his past life Smyrna, Serena's big sis.

Manga Review : Akatsuki no Yona

Hullo~!! Today I'm in a very good mood <3 So I decided to update the blog. Haha (what kind of reason is that?) Well, our manga review today shines on this particular manga I'm currently liking : Akatsuki no Yona. It was currently serialized in Hana to Yume magazine and scanlated by Titania Scanlations.

From Titania Scanlations:

Yona is the sole princess of the kingdom, living the luxurious and carefree life as a princess should. She has it all: the finest clothes and cosmetics, the most divine sweets, a loving emperor as a father, and the hottest cousin crush, Soo-won, anyone could ever hope to have. Now, if only her bodyguard, Son Hak, wasn't so annoying to her and her hair wasn't so red.

But her nearly perfect world quickly shatters as the man she loves, Soo-won, murders her father and the path to his ascension to the throne is assured. Son Hak escapes with Yona, and they lead a life on the run from that point on.

~***~

Considering the summary, it's not really such a heavy series. It was quite light, comparing it to other manga with more serious plotline. The comedies are still there, the romance are very sweet I love Hak, and there's even characters development. The stories are progressing smoothly too.

Since this is made by Mizuho Kusanagi, I shall say that the main cast are very huge. But let's just say that the main characters are these three, which at the start were childhood friends :

Our Princess Yona, of course. She's 16 currently.
The ex-Wind Tribe's Head & General, Hak. He's 18.
The new King of Kouka Kingdom, Soo-Won. He's 18.
P/S : The "right hand" is Hak, not his actual hand please.

It was divided into two groups after about 2 chapters. Yona with Hak, and Soo-Won alone. Poor him, huhu. Well, on the way, Yona's group increased since she needs the power of the dragons to help her and Hak survive. But before that, let me introduce you to Yoon, their exclusive healer and self-acclaimed genius. He is though, I think.

He also a somewhat narcissist and easily moved. He's 15.
And Yona's group exclusive mascot, Ao the squirrel! He's very adorable, and funny too.

Out of all the characters, he's the C-U-T-E-S-T!!! I LOVE HIM.
Now let me introduce you to the 4 dragons. We'll start from which was introduced first :

1. The White Dragon, Ki-Ja. He has dragon claws on his right hand. While his right hand is very strong, his left hand is weak. He was kinda similar to Yona, a spoiled rich kid. Every one in his village worships and loves him.
This is Ki-Ja. He's 19, almost 20.
2. The Blue Dragon, Shin-Ah. He has dragon eyes, so he wears mask to hide his eyes and avoid killing people because of it. He's still strong though. He's also a very shy and obedient boy. He doesn't talk much, as he's the type that action speaks louder than voice.

He's 17, and almost 18, by the way.
Out of all the dragons, I love him the best because his actions are often very cute and naive. See this? Cute right?

I forgot to say this before, but Ao is his pet.

3. The Green Dragon, Jae-Ha. He has a dragon's feet, so he can jumps very high, and kicks very hard. He's a big flirt, he doesn't care whether it's a man or a girl. As long as it took his attention he'll try to harass you. Personally, I think he's just a masochist. Well, actually, he just loves teasing people.

He's 25, so he's the oldest dragon.
Sometimes he and Hak would tease Ki-Ja or Yoon or Yona together, and sometimes not. Both of them have a kinda similar personality, though he flirts more.

Don't worry, he's always like that.
4. The Yellow Dragon, Zeno. He has a very strong body which I suspect, he has scales all over his body! He's the last dragon to appear. I don't know much about him, since I only know him from spoilers give by Sorasan from livejournal. He was supposed to be cute and lovable.

I don't know how old is he, but I think he's 15.
Looking at him, he is cute. <3

There was another dragon, the Red Dragon. It was the leader I say master of the dragons. Want to know who?

Yep, it's Yona herself.
The reason all the dragons follow her are because the dragon blood that flows through their veins accepts her as their master. It was a blood contract made by their dragon predecessors with her ancestor, the Red Dragon turned human King Hiryuu long ago and fortunately, they accepted her as their master voluntarily (who wouldn't, since our Yona is cute!)

All in all, that's the main cast. I strongly recommend this series. It's too sweet and lovable a story you won't regret reading it in my opinion. By the way, here's some extra from Hak and yours truly;

Well, Jae-Ha is very fun to draw!

Yes, I'm sorry. This is the real one (: P) :
Yoon is the coolest :P

Hahaha!!! XD

Well, that's all! What a long post, haha. I suppose this is a very fun thing for me. Untill then, tata!

Manga Review : Kingyo Sou

Bismillah, Assalamualaikum, Hello, Konnichiwa, Kamsahamnida, Halo, Ola!

Okay, I'm seriously bored. But I don't have any idea what kind of crazy things I should do here. So I  decide to do some manga reviews. This thing has been on my mind for quite a while, but it always stopped in the middle. So here's my first review which shines on the manga named (Kingyo Sou) by Fujitsuka Yuki.

This girl's name is Asuka. The main character.
Description : From Aerandria Scans:

In the spring of her second year in high school, Asuka sees Masami playing Japanese drums in a festival, and she falls in love with him. However, Masami is deaf, and he has locked his heart in a world without sound. And thus, the two’s melancholic love miracle quietly begins. This is a pure love story in the middle of summer that will make your heart ache.

~***~

Of course, it being a shoujo manga usually means romance, but what make this series stands out was the fact that it deals with the handicapped, which, of course, something not easy to do. But fortunately, the author was quite a genius, so she was able to capture(I think) the budding romance and the hardship that comes with it beautifully.

I particularly like the main character, Asuka. She was such a positive and energetic girl. And what's more, she was a very tolerant girl, trying her hardest to make sure Masami doesn't get hurt from her actions. Well, sometimes she does acts childish, which results to disastrous things happening, but that's just plot devices so we could feel the depth of the stories.

The man above is Masami!
And Masami was also a great character. At first, he was a slightly bitter person, but that was only because he felt he was the only one different from everyone (he was the only hear-impaired in his family). Thankfully Asuka comes to save? the rescue! Without her, maybe Masami would break faster as times goes by.

The support of a family was very important in a story which covers about something like this. And so we have Masami's little brother, Asuka's so called best friend and part-time cupid. Haha. As well as his brother ans Asuka, he also plays the taiko, although not as fanatic as them both. Attention though : he has a big brother complex so never try to make his brother cry or he'll hit you real hard!

That's right! Taisei on the upper right ^^
Over the course of the series, there were many times misunderstanding happens, but that never stopped Asuka from loving Masami more and more! The comedies are quite good, so people won't feel too bored reading the manga. All in all, this is a very good read, and I really recommended this for those who loves a manga based on the character development and not the romance. Well..... not really, since the characters in this story developed from their romance experience..... (Okay, I hope this make sense) And we could learn about Japanese instrument, too! Namely : Taiko (links : Wikipedia). In Malaysia, the term "taiko" usually refers to big boss of a gangster, though.

My mind rating : (4.5/5) I'm not totally hooked, but I'm not too indifferent to it either. Since the series ended early, it was quite a good rating to get(?)

Okay, until then! Mata Ashita ^^

My Crazy Heroine

Heya! Once again, this is Miya well duh, you're the blogger! coming up with something wacky for all of you this weekend! Last time I give you my top 3 list of Evil Bishies but this time, it's crazy heroine! And I'm making a poll for it. That's right, THE CRAZIEST HEROINE IN SHOUJO MANGA poll is open starting today! If you never heard about the manga I've listed, no worries! What's the use of Wikipedia and Google? Use it! So... here's the list of our crazy queens:

1. Kyouko Mogami ; Skip Beat
Daww, so cute but....

How to describe her? Easy. More than crazy, she's had seriously gone BONKERS. Why? Because she....
can catch-up with a full speed cab using bicycle

can make a crack on the wall

can create apparitions of herself to curse and trap people

....and many other superhuman abilities. She also excelled well in house chores such as cooking and sewing to the point that people called her a pro at it.

2. Naedoko Kanoko ;Warau Kanoko-sama and sequel : Koi dano Ai Dano
And no, the person hugging her is not her boyfriend *yet?*
She is the heroine of two different manga (but same author, of course) spanning from her middle school to high school life. Kanoko is really not your average schoolgirl. Over the past years as a middle schooler, she has transferred for 108 times until she finally decided to live by herself when she became a high schooler. She's not really on the crazy line actually, mind you, but her awesomeness at trickery and wicked measure earn her a spot on my crazy heroine list. Why, do you ask? That's because she was...
The best observer in the world!
Look, even as a child she's Eeeeeevil~!!!

Ahh... good memories...
And is still.....
The greatest blackmailer strategist of all time
Ruthless girl
Calculating girl

And seriously blunt girl
All in all, Kanoko is one of the coolest shoujo heroine you'll ever know. She may look ordinary, but her life itself aren't that ordinary!

3. Nakahara Sunako ; The Wallflower
Cute, ain't she?
Well don't be fooled by her chibi-ness. Other than her household prowess, there's nothing normal about her. It's downright creepy well....in a good way, if not humorous. Let's see how crazy her brain has become...
Ghost? Nah, it's Sunako. This is her first appearances, btw
This is why she's creepy
This is her favourite things ; dark, REALLY DARK things.....
Feel the wrath of people from the darknes!!
...And that is what will happen to you if you mess with her! Well, it's somehow a shame, actually. She might think she's ugly and all, but in reality, she looked like this :
A real yamato nadeshiko!

4. Hanazono Hikari ; S.A - Special A
Yeah, she's pretty
She might look normal (well, she is quite normal compared to the others), but she's super DUPER strong. She's highly agile, intelligent, and well, highly competitive. Too bad I'm too lazy to hunt for the potrayal of her crazy strength but whatever. What makes her crazy are the fact that she's, like I said earlier, super DUPER strong, she can't even control her own strength and end up turning rice into powder. What's more, her nimble body allows her to do some impossible acrobatic skills you can't do it unless you live in China and practice martial arts since you were a toddler. And her reckless attitude for competitions (no matter how straightforward it was), often make her got into trouble to the point that it was crazy.

5. Kozuki Tsukasa ; Tokyo Crazy Paradise
Don't play with me!
From the same author who create Skip Beat, here comes Tokyo Crazy Paradise! If you ask me, I'll tell you Tsukasa is on the same line as Kyouko ; BONKERS. Though Tsukasa was a bit tamer, or maybe too bloodlust to the point of being crazy. She's a hella strong girl, even though she only fights using a chain.
By the way, she's what you call a cross-dresser, since she disguised herself as a man (to protect herself)
Her lineage comes from a highly powerful and influental Yakuza clan, though she was adopted by a police couple to protect herself from being killed by other Yakuza clans.
