Day 4&5: Green and Yellow Part 2

Just because she was a little bit clumsy - okay, that was an understatement. Just because she was overly clumsy, people treated her like an idiotic airhead. In truth, she have quite a nasty mouth and was decently smart. Plus, it was mysterious how she could still look like an innocent, warm and loving girl when she possessed such a grey heart.

He might have a horrid personality - well, that was an exaggeration. He was truly a boy with a soft heart, just forced to act like a cold person to shake off his ever increasing number of admirers. Since he moved to the rural town they were living in, he has been chased to death by girls until he was almost traumatized by them. In addition, despite his quite the above average handsome looks, he was actually a really normal guy.

It started with a series of coincidences that happened at a park. Day by day, it turned into daily meetings between the two of them. They acted as if nothing was going on at all between them at school, but really - when two people have a rendezvous it's possible that lots of things actually transpired. Although, seeing as he was just so naïve, nothing that was of harm would really happened to her.

At first it was merely casual talk - complaints, gossips, schools - then slowly progressing into love talk; of secret crush or admirers and so on. Occasionally they spent their time just playing around with the people at the park, but in the end it always ended up with both of them reminding each other to keep their liaison their own little secret. However, they never really keep it a real secret though, since nobody actually ever cared to ask them about it.

"Want to go out with me?"

His question made her fell from the bench, even though she was just sitting there properly before. Her mouth dropped, as well as the piece of the crepe she was just having a while ago. She peered at his expression, and he was blushing madly. Even his clear jade eyes were kind of dilated.

"...U-hmm..... whe....re to.....?"

She asked him, confused and unsure. His brows suddenly furrowed, and the redness on his face turned into a violent rouge. She just stared at him innocently. A moment passed and he sighed, giving up. Covering his face with his hand, he muttered something under his breath.

"...This is so damn embarrassing.... I thought your air-headed personality was a ruse. Guess there is still somewhere that is still as underdeveloped as your body...."

"You punk. Are you insulting me? Want me to call your army of stalkers right now?"

She threatened him, dark aura looming around her as she quickly stood up. To call a lady like her underdeveloped...!!

But he seemed not to listen to her threat, and continued to look into the distant sky. His hands were now lowered from his face, and he glanced a little at her, before continuing.

"No, I'm sorry. Let me rephrase it, Kiiko."

"How about we get married?"

Kiiko blinked. No wonder this man is an idiot. His mind is so full of rubbish!

"Midori, are you joking around with me? Besides, aren't there supposed to be steps before we even went that far?"

She asked him, trembling in confusion and anger. Midori scratched the back of his head and closed his eyes, as if he was thinking. When he opened his eyes, the jade orbs were sparkling brightly, captivating Kiiko.

"Hmm... well, I hate being in an unsure and fragile relationship such as boyfriend and girlfriend where we wouldn't know what the future might be so it's better if we just get married. Besides, there will be legal papers saying that we're a real couple rather than just being an item that people will gossip on. So, what do you think, Kiiko?"

He tilted his head a little, and smiled. A blush suddenly crept onto Kiiko's face, and she could feel her heart thumping loudly against her chest. Hastily she turned her face to the side. Her lips curled in a twisted way, and she had to fight her way to be able to utter the word "...But..."

"Oh, by the way, you know that my family is rich, right? And I'm the next-in-line for my family's company, even though my grades are barely above average. Well, either way I don't think we'll starve if we ever get married,"

He had laughed like it was nothing, but she felt that he was trying to earn points by reminding her about his family's fortune. Then he stopped laughing, and his expression turned serious, albeit with a tint of blush on his cheeks.

"I'm earnestly serious, Kiiko."

He held out a hand toward her, and their eyes locked. Kiiko blushed harder, and her hands crept up to her face to hide her embarrassment.

"Uh, um... if you're... fine... with someone like me... then,"

Slowly, she took his offering hand in hers. When they finally touched, she grabbed the hand firmly, before giving him a shy smile and a light giggle.

Suddenly her line of focus moved and she was pulled by Midori swiftly into his arms. He was laughing; ecstatic.

"Of course! I'm more than happy. Blessed, truthfully,"

"This means we're engaged now, right?"

He kissed her ear, her forehead, her cheeks, her nose and...

"Wha-! Wait, Midori!!"

She stopped him just in time, but he only stared at her. His lips were still smiling widely.

"What is it, am I wrong?"

He smirked a little, and stole a peck on her lips while she was unguarded. Kiiko gave up. She sighed; her face was already beet red.

"....Idiot,"

She muttered, and they kissed.
