Day 4&5: Yellow and Green, part 1.

She never thinks she was stupid. Probably because of her cheerful and clumsy nature, people always thought of and treated her as an idiot.

He thinks it was a pain in the ass. Just because he had a slightly different eye colour than was normal, girls kept ogling at him wherever he goes.

"Haaa~h..."

They both sighed at the same time. Then, both are surprised. She looked to her right. He turned to his left. On different benches at the park, they were sitting just beside each other.

"Ah, Midori." She exclaimed in surprised.

"...Kiiko," He clicked his tongue.

"What are you doing here?"

"Nothing,"

Both questioned and answered at the same time. Kiiko laughed. Midori was exasperated.

"I see there aren't any girls around. Did you manage to escape from all of your admirers?" Kiiko asked him. Midori sulked.

"...There's still one here," Midori muttered. He glanced at her, and then frowned. Kiiko just laughed at him, ignoring his dissatisfaction.

"Who? Me? Sorry to say this but, I'm not interested in a jerk like you, even if you are a handsome man with a pair of beautiful jade eyes." She said, leaning her back on the bench she was sitting on. Midori's mouth fell.

He had never thought that someone like her could say something like that.

"...What's wrong?" Kiiko asked, looking confused.

Midori closed his gaping mouth with his hand and shook his head.

"...Nothing. I'm just kind of surprised. Never thought an idiot like you could say something so cheeky,"

Kiiko just brushed it off with a laugh.

"Are you sure about me being an idiot? The last time I checked, your exam scores were lower than me in everything except PE," She smiled at him. Midori was clearly stoned by her words; he was speechless after she said that. It was weird how something that sounded so nasty could look so refreshing when she said it. And it also seemed as if he was seeing illusions about how the air around Kiiko was wafting with so much cheers and sunshine.

"...That's... true..." Midori replied slowly, and sank back onto the bench. Honestly, can he just run away from her now? She seemed much more scarier than his admirers. He looked upward on the evening horizon, and sighed a little.

"...Don't judge a book by its cover, eh..." He muttered. Kiiko just smiled, and then she turned her gaze toward the sky too.

Afterward, they often meet up at the same spot in the same park on the same day every week. And, over the next few years, Midori would be very surprised at seeing a much more darker side of the always cheerful but clumsy girl named Kiiko. What shocked him more than anything was how they ended up being in a relationship despite his adamant resolution to never get near any girl as long as he was alive.

That was all burned and had turned into ashes by the cheerful, cunning but unfortunately clumsy girl beside him.

And it was crazy how head over heels in love he was with her.
