Day 1: White

White. Everything in front of her was white. She sat in front of her desk, staring intently at the white sheet of paper on top of the desk.

Why won't anything come into her mind?

Again and again, she kept asking herself that question. Once she got tired of staring, she sighed. Her brows frowned, and she slumped onto her desk.

It was summer vacation, and Hizuki hasn't stepped outside her house for days since it started. Every day, she passed the holidays either doing her homework or staring at the blank pieces of white papers on her desk, which was boring. But she vowed to herself that she would create a new story and finish it by the time vacation ended.

Days passed, and not a single letter written on any of the papers she had.

"Hizuki, what are you doing?" a familiar voice called out to her, making her jump out from her chair and accidentally knocking on her pile of blank papers. She fell down with a loud thump with sheets of paper flying down on top of her. Underneath the pile of white papers, she glowered at the source of her misfortune.

"Setsu, what are you doing here?" She asked the young boy looming on top of her. Setsu just grinned at her, showing her his wide smile.

"Visiting you, of course. I thought you'd be missing me to death already by now. We haven't met for a while since summer vacation started." He offered a hand, his dark brown eyes sparkling with glee at seeing her being so surprised she fell from her chair.

Hizuki's brow twitched. 'Darn it. This person is having fun from making a joke out of me!' She gritted her teeth, and reluctantly took his hand. He hoisted her up easily though, and even made the effort to make sure she's right on her own two feet before releasing her. All the impulse to gripe at the blonde in front of her disappeared, as the flush of embarrassment crept up to her face.

"By the way, what is up with all of these papers? Writing again?" Setsu picked up some papers, and took a glance at all of them. The papers were, of course, totally blank.

"There's nothing written in here though," he continued. His tone sounded bored, probably disappointed by the lack of materials to tease her with.

"Shut up, Setsu. Besides, why would I miss you? You come here every. Single. Day. Since vacation started!" She grabbed the papers from him, and began to clean up the mess around the desk. When she finished, she slammed all the papers on top of the poor desk and glared at Setsu.

Setsu blinked; his face full of surprise.

"Woah, what wrong? You look like you're on edge today. Has the heat gone to your brain?" He asked her nonchalantly; but his both arms were raised in front of his body, as if trying to protect himself from her impending wrath.

Hizuki bit her lower lip, answering nothing. Face flushing redder, fists gripped so tightly it hurts, and her whole body shaking and trembled it was hard not to be concerned about the girl in front of him. Even her eyes seemed like she was holding back her tears.

What could possibly be happening with her, though?

"...Hizuki?" Setsu approached her slowly, and bent his knees so he can see her eye-to-eye. She turned her face away, refusing to meet his eyes. Setsu smiled solemnly. He raised a hand to touch Hizuki's face, and carefully turned it to face his. It was unfortunate that she still refused to look at him in the eye though. Giving up, he heaved a sigh and stood up to his real height. He made a move as if he was thinking something, and then suddenly he clapped his hands together, surprising Hizuki.

"Okay, I got it!" He said it so enthusiastically; Hizuki was curious about what he just thought about. 'Was it another agenda of teasing me again?' She frowned at the thought, and her eyes unconsciously went to look at Setsu's expression. When their eyes accidentally met, she saw the annoying boyish grin that never ceases to make her riled up spreading all over his face.

"What?" Hizuki raised a brow.

"Let's go out!" Setsu grabbed her hand, and immediately pulled her to him.

"HA? What do you mean- wait! Setsu!!" He twirled her around as if they were dancing, and lead them toward the door. The young blonde just laughed as she twirled and fumbled around him, clearly feeling flustered from the sudden action.

"Let's go out! Let's have a picnic or watch movies or just stroll around the town! You cannot write good stories when you're in such a foul mood, can you? Sometimes a change of pace might be good, especially when you've been cooping inside the house all day," He said, smiling happily. Hizuki wanted to protest, but the smile on his face was so cute she couldn't help but smile helplessly at him.

"...Sure, why not? I've been craving to eat something sweet for a while now." An idea suddenly popped into her brain. "However, you're going to pay for everything though." She teased him, and Setsu stopped dancing. She took that chance to grab her purse and handbag just beside the door, and, after some deliberation, took her straw hat that was hanging beside her door and quickly pulled the stoned Setsu beside him.

"Hurry, Setsu! Let's go!" She called him, and laughed when he almost tripped on the floor. Setsu sighed, but quickly recovered from his shock. When they were leaving the room, he turned to look around Hizuki's room. The window was slightly open; and the wind was blowing gently, creating ripples on the curtain and making the papers on her desk flutter a little bit.

Setsu smiled.
