Day 2: Red

'Hair as black as raven, eyes as dark as night, skin as fair as cream, lips cherry pink, and...'

'...Blood as red as rose.'

"Ow!" Raven yelped, and immediately raised his hand. When the pain subsided a little, he looked at his right hand.

There was blood on his finger.

Raven blinked. It wasn't as if he never felt pain before, and he definitely was very familiar with the red colour and the scent of blood. Yet, never once, had he ever seen his own blood properly.

It was dark red, the colour of the rose he had tried to pluck before.

"Raven, what are you doing there?"

He recognised that voice, and slowly turned toward the direction of the voice. She was of normal height, with an above average pretty face and long, slightly wavy brunette hair. Her dress was simple; yet full of magnificent embroidery and laces, and definitely was made from very high quality clothes. Befitting of her title as a princess.

"...Edel," He called her name absentmindedly. When she was near enough with him, she saw his bleeding finger. Raven flinched. Edel had taken his injured hand into hers, and started to examine it.

"You're injured." She said, staring at him. "What happened?"

"I was just trying to pick one of the roses here," He turned his eyes toward the rose bushes standing tall between him and the thick, high walls of the castle. "I forgot that there are thorns on the roses," Unconsciously, his eyes drifted to look at her reactions.

Edel had chuckled.

Raven frowned. It infuriated him how he could never take his eyes off of her. And her laugh was very addicting. But what he was exasperated about was about how he would always be charmed whenever he saw her smile. Unlike his dark, ominously cynical smile, hers was like sunshine; always warm, friendly and loving.

He was surprised when she suddenly pulled his finger to her lips, and then sucked on his blood. His fingers twitched at the sensation, and he felt his face turned red.

The pain stings.

When she finished, she pulled out a Band-Aid from a pocket on her dress and put it around his fingers. She smiled happily, satisfied with her accomplishment.

"There, good as new! Don't you think so, Raven?" She held her head upward, trying to look at his expression.

"...Hexe," Raven muttered under his breath. He forcefully pulled his hand from hers, and hastily covered his reddened face. Edel frowned. It has been a while since Raven called her by her nickname.

"I thought you said you'd never call me by that name again?" She asked, her eyes scrutinizing every movement, every expression he'd make.

"Shut up. I'll call you with whatever names I want," Raven instinctively stepped back when Edel stepped forward toward him. She stared at him for a long time, then, she smiled mischievously.

"Are you embarrassed, Raven?" She teased, pointing a finger at him.

"Yes, I am." He answered immediately, surprising her. The moment she let her guard down, Raven took his chance. He grabbed her hand, and swiftly pulled her into his arms. Edel saw a flash of evil plan gleaming in his obsidian orbs, and Raven was smiling in his usual wicked smile.

"Raven, what are-!!" She didn't even manage to finish her sentence before Raven shut her lips with his. When she tried to resist, he grazed her lips with his teeth, making it bleed. Edel flinched. She could feel the taste of her own blood in her mouth.

"Wait, Raven..." She tried to speak in between kisses, but to no avail. Raven only gave her enough time to gasp for air before he kissed her again and again. And with each kisses, she felt her strength leaving her bit by bit. Her knees had already weakened by the time Raven let her go; and he smirked sneakily at her when she gripped on his clothes, not wanting to fall to the ground.

"...Who's the witch now? You scoundrel!" She pinched his cheek, annoyed by his grin. He just laughed at her. He brushed their lips one last time before releasing her, making her surprised again.

"Can't be helped, isn't it? I was raised by a real witch," He answered nonchalantly. "By the way, your lips is so red right now," He stared at her lips, grinning and smirking at his own handiwork.

"Raven Black!!" Edel screamed, exasperated. He just laughed.
