Today was New Year.
I woke up late because I watched Kouhaku last night.
And I think I accidentally slept while reading my collection of manga.
When I opened my eyes, the sun was already high up on the sky.
I think I woke up during the afternoon.
I yawned and lazily scratched my tummy.
I'm hungry.
Without even brushing my teeth or at least wash my face, I went downstairs.
I immediately walked toward the kitchen.
And stopped in front of the dinner table.
There was a food cover on top of it.
And stopped in front of the dinner table.
There was a food cover on top of it.
I opened the food cover.
Nothing was underneath.
Shamelessly, I called my mom and asked her;
"Mom, where's food?"
My mom ignored me, and continued doing her housework.
I scratched my head.
I blinked my sleepy eyes and stared at her.
Then she finally answered my question.
"...There's no food for a lazy bum who only wake up in the afternoon."
She doesn't even bother to turn or stop to look at me.
There were silence between us.
Only the sound of the vacuum cleaner filled the whole house.
"Okay,"
I replied, nodding my head slowly.
I scratched my tummy.
I was thinking of what to do.
I decided to take a shower first.
Slowly I walked toward the bathroom.
The water was cold.
But it was refreshing.
I could feel my whole body becoming awake as each droplets of water fell onto my skin.
Wash, wash, wash.
Scrub, scrub, scrub.
Shampooing and cleaning.
I hummed happily as I was taking the shower.
Then my mom suddenly knocked on the door, calling me.
"Don't stay in the bathroom for too long, you're wasting water!"
I stopped.
I stared at the door.
"...Sure,"
I replied.
I was just about to finish showering anyway.
So I quickly get out from the shower.
And dried my body with a towel.
I didn't bother drying my hair.
It will become dry by itself soon enough.
After putting on a new set of clothes, I stepped out from the bathroom.
I wrapped my hair with my towel so water droplets wouldn't fall on the floor.
Then I walked again to the kitchen.
I opened the fridge.
There's soba noodles and some miso soup.
I heated the miso soup.
And left the soba noodles inside the fridge longer.
Then I'll have chilled soba dipped in miso soup.
That will be delicious!
But I need something crunchy too...
I saw some nori on the side of the fridge.
Fried nori sounds good too....
I cooked my own breakfast.
Actually, it was already 1.35 P.M.
It was time for lunch anyway.
Whatever.
"Let's eat!"
I said to myself.
And happily eat my food.
The sound of me slurping the soba noodles emanated throughout the living room.
Mommy was nowhere to be found.
She probably went out to shop for groceries.
Well, no wonder the house was so silent.
I rolled my eyes to one side.
My mouth was busy slurping noodles.
...Doesn't matter.
